Russia is hitting back at Meta, the owner of Facebook and Instagram. The company announced Thursday night that it will make exceptions to its policy on violent and hateful content by not deleting posts with anti-Russian rhetoric and anti-Russian leaders on Facebook and Instagram.
Russia has already reacted and will open criminal proceedings against Meta.

In response, Russia has also classified the company as an “extremist organization” and will open a criminal case against Meta Platforms, according to Reuters.
